Gérard Daran is a French Postwar & Contemporary artist who was born in 1946.
Painter, he follows the Fine Arts courses in Toulouse, Strasbourg and Paris, specializing in figurative art, especially in the academic nude.

Daran’s work is entirely placed under the sign of women. She captured all his attention and motivated all his creation: she appears unreal, mysterious, secret and eternal, the sole object of his desires. An excellent graphic designer, Daran cultivates drawing and a love of lines. He has always used engraving and lithography to express his thoughts. This work allowed him to acquire an incomparable mastery of lines and curves. From the initial abundance of his creations, he kept only the essentials.
Its oils sublimate the softness and colors of the earth. Circles, triangles and squares, large lines underline the construction and contribute to balance and perfection. Rolls, spirals, pleats, enigmatic shapes create movement…

He has worked and lived in Paris since 1968.
Numerous exhibitions to his credit. He exhibited in Paris (1969, 1982, 1983, 1989), Düsseldorf (1972, 1974), Tokyo (1975, 1976), Brussels (1974, 1975) …
